As a key member of the Schreiber Foods team, the Sustainability Director will play a crucial role in driving the company's environmental sustainability initiatives in Europe. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to reduce the company's carbon footprint, promote sustainable practices, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Create and execute plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy sources, and implement sustainable supply chain practices.
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and coordination of sustainability initiatives across the organization.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Communicate with clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders to understand their sustainability needs and expectations.
- Ensure Compliance: Verify that the company's operations and supply chain meet environmental regulations and standards.
- Provide Thought Leadership: Share expertise and best practices with the industry to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Education: MBA or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, data analytics, environmental engineering, climate accounting, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to communicate complex information to various audiences, and experience with carbon accounting and reporting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Background in water and waste management best practices, experience with reporting tools such as EcoVadis and Carbon Disclosure Project, and knowledge of carbon standards and accounting principles.
