Electrical Engineer for Offshore Wind Projects

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG. As a key member of our offshore wind project team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for substation projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical specifications for EPC tenders and negotiate with suppliers
  • Collaborate with the overall electrical engineering manager to ensure compliance with project system design and grid codes
  • Oversee electrical modeling works and work with internal and external simulation engineers
  • Develop electrical component specifications for transformers, shunt reactors, and GIS
  • Manage EPC contractor works in electrical engineering throughout all project stages
Your Profile
  • Degree in electrical engineering, M.Sc. preferred
  • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience from energy infrastructure projects, preferably from HV substation projects
  • Good knowledge of electrical HV components such as transformers, shunt reactors, GIS, and STATCOM
  • Experience in electrical design works, managing EPC contractors, and electrical interface engineering
  • Preferably more than 3 years of experience from offshore wind projects
  • Familiar with relevant industry codes and standards
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to undertake regular trips to project countries
  • Valid EU work permit
