We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team in the Dermatology Therapeutic Area. As a key member of our Medical Affairs organization, you will be responsible for contributing to the strategic planning and execution of clinical trials, post-marketing requirement studies, and investigator-initiated studies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Clinical Programs: Develop and execute Medical Affairs sponsored clinical programs, including Phase 3b/4 trials, registries, real-world evidence studies, investigator-initiated and/or collaborative studies in the Dermatology TA.
- Contribute to Study Design and Protocol Development: Contribute/lead study design, protocol development, clinical study report and publication development.
- Provide Medical Oversight and Leadership: Work closely with the matrix clinical trial teams on study operations and provide program leadership and medical oversight.
- Represent Medical Affairs on Internal Stakeholder Teams: Provide Dermatology subject matter expertise and represent US medical affairs on internal stakeholder/project teams across multiple functional areas including but not limited to sales and marketing, health economics and outcomes research, value and evidence, field MSLs, medical communications and scientific exchange.
- Support Clinical Development Programs: Provide US medical affairs input and US stakeholder insights to R&D clinical development programs, including clinical trial study designs, presentations, and publications.
- Support Medical Information Requests: Support the fulfillment of medical information requests from field medical and field commercial teams.
- Develop Medical Education Content: Support/lead the development of medical education content for field medical team.
- Partner with Medical Communications Teams: Partner with medical communications and scientific exchange teams on content development, review, and approval.
- Identify and Develop Key Opinion Leaders: Identify new key opinion leaders (KOLs) and develop strong KOL collaborations on clinical trial development and medical affairs activities.
- Foster Relations with Medical Societies and Patient Advocacy Organizations: Establish and foster relations with medical societies and patient advocacy organizations.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in dermatology or immunology, with a minimum of 8 years of combined relevant experience in academic clinical research, clinical practice, and/or pharmaceutical industry. A BA/BS is required, and an advanced degree in Health Sciences or Clinical degrees with board certification in Dermatology is a strong asset. Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, and experience interacting with health care professionals and other thought leaders is essential. Evidence of strong scientific writing skills and analytical thinking is essential. Strong leadership, teaming and collaboration skills are essential. Up to 25% travel (primarily domestic & limited international) is required.
