About the Role

Magnolia Public Schools (MPS) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Leader to serve as the Dean of Students. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties to assist the Principal in managing the school, including assuming the duties of the Principal in their absence.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of designated certificated and/or classified personnel, and assign duties to faculty and staff as appropriate to meet school objectives.
  • Develop and administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies and state laws, and respond to and resolve parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints.
  • Supervise students on campus before and after school, monitor students during lunch, recess, passing periods, and other activities, and instruct students in appropriate behavior.
  • Provide direction to a variety of faculty, staff, and student programs and services, and participate in formal and informal classroom visitations and observations.
  • Liaison to the after-school program, student government, extracurricular activities, the student athletics program, and other competitive or performance programs and events.
Requirements
  • B.A./B.S. degree
  • Valid California credential authorizing service as an administrator
  • Valid California teaching credential
  • Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience
  • Energetic and positive approach to responsibilities
  • Drive to attain results; proven experience and effectiveness in improving student achievement in classroom and/or school
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of school law, finance, and curriculum
  • Ability to manage personnel and interpret policy, procedures, and data
