Senior Software Engineer - Advertising Solutions

The Knot Worldwide is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Senior Software Engineer to enhance our Advertising Solutions and Content Engineering division.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our systems that deliver content-driven web pages. Your expertise will ensure that our platforms not only meet the evolving needs of our stakeholders but also deliver high-performing advertising units in collaboration with our Ads team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate closely with Ads and Editorial teams to align on strategies and ensure seamless integration of new features.
  • Develop robust, maintainable code that adheres to best practices while providing constructive feedback on peer code submissions.
  • Engage in the Agile development cycle to architect, build, and deploy innovative features.
  • Oversee production releases, ensuring quality assurance and stakeholder alignment.
  • Work in partnership with product, design, and marketing teams to align engineering efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Offer technical guidance and insights to fellow engineers, facilitating code reviews and feature launches.
  • Contribute to company-wide architectural and coding standards beyond your immediate team.
  • Foster communication and collaboration with other teams within the organization.
  • Engage with remote and international teams effectively.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineers across diverse technical stacks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience with various technologies, including Ruby on Rails, React, Webpack, Next JS, NodeJS, and Docker.
  • Capability to guide system transitions to new platforms and anticipate necessary migrations.
  • Background in a publishing environment that frequently updates content and collaborates with editorial teams.
  • Familiarity with advertising technology systems and web page ad performance.
  • Strong knowledge of web performance, SEO, and analytics.
  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies and committed to producing high-quality software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a passion for knowledge sharing and the ability to explain complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
