About the Role

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Urban Designer and Project Manager to join our team at BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in Barcelona. As a key member of our urban planning and design team, you will be responsible for leading large-scale urban and master planning projects, managing project stakeholders, and providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to complex design challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Defend BIG's design intent throughout all phases of project development
  • Team and project coordination, including reporting to the Partner-in-Charge
  • Communication with clients and consultant teams
  • Production of contract documents and management of project stakeholders
  • Management and mentorship of team members
  • Providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to help resolve complex technical and design challenges

Requirements
  • Extensive experience within large-scale urban/master planning projects and design, with management/leading experience ( +10 years of experience )
  • Middle eastern masterplan experience
  • Experience in design-lead and project-management roles
  • Excellent communication skills, with English language speaking, writing, and presentation skills being a must
  • Strong client management and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working
  • Experience with management and coordination of project stakeholders, local authorities, and approving bodies and sub-consultants
  • Ability to take initiative in response to direction from directors and partners
