Job Summary
Importante Empresa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Development Program Manager to lead and manage site screening, due diligence, and development efforts for our data center projects in Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data on prospective regions and sites, determining how to best address site risks and opportunities, and managing communications to ensure alignment across key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage site screening, due diligence, and development efforts to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
- Compile and analyze data on prospective regions and sites, including community and regional attributes, real estate situation and cost, permitting and land use considerations, applicable taxes, energy, water and wastewater availability, connectivity, and cost, network connectivity, natural, flood, and climatological risks, and legal and financial implications.
- Determine how to best address site risks and opportunities.
- Manage communications to ensure alignment across key internal and external stakeholders, including site development, engineering, design and construction, external consulting partners, communications, legal, tax, policy, and finance.
- Partner with teammates to develop and present analyses, strategies, and recommended actions to senior management.
- Secure all necessary entitlements (e.g., zoning, land use permitting) on schedule by ensuring accurate and timely submission and execution of all supporting materials and overcoming obstacles.
- Facilitate ongoing compliance with development agreements for a portfolio of sites in development, construction, and operation.
- Develop scalable and efficient tools and processes to improve data center development.
- Build, maintain, and own the company's strong relationships with key project sponsors within host communities and key stakeholders such as planning and permitting experts and authorities having jurisdiction.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal staff, external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed (25% to 50%+ at times).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 15+ years of project management and/or site development experience.
- Skilled with using Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software.
- Bachelor's degree in a business, planning, environmental management, science, or technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data centers, mission critical, and other large and complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience with collaborating with government authorities and other stakeholders.
- Advanced technical degree, law degree or MBA.
