As an Information Security Specialist, your role will be pivotal in protecting sensitive information, ensuring the integrity of patient data, maintaining clean computer systems, and fostering a secure information environment for our users.
This position requires on-site presence and involves participation in a rotational on-call schedule to provide weekend coverage, with appropriate recuperation time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor security information and assess potential threats to proactively defend all information systems.
- Collaborate with fellow security professionals to identify areas for enhancement, design and validate preventive and detective controls, and formulate response strategies within a global enterprise.
- Utilize your technical expertise and innovative thinking to analyze a diverse array of security-related logs and telemetry.
- Conduct thorough investigations of reported security incidents and refine incident management and response processes.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to proactively mitigate risks affecting all members of the organization.
- Address inquiries from end users regarding IT security matters through established communication channels.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience in the information security domain.
- Demonstrated experience in threat hunting, incident response, or data protection, with a solid grasp of common security vulnerabilities and attack vectors, along with their respective mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell/C#, and Bash.
- Relevant industry certifications such as BTL1/2, GMON, GCIH, GCFA, GREM are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to work independently or collaboratively.
- A strong passion for the field of computer and network security.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in responding to incidents within cloud environments, as well as network and endpoint security monitoring in complex settings.
- Proven ability to analyze, triage, and escalate information security incidents, along with familiarity with various defensive and offensive security tools.
- Comfort in challenging existing practices to enhance the security posture of the organization, with the ability to operate within established security frameworks and methodologies (e.g., ATT&CK, STRIDE).
- Experience with platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, PAN XDR, Splunk, BigQuery, and threat intelligence platforms like MISP and OpenCTI.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus, along with experience working in a global team environment.
