About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainability Director to join our team at Volotea Alaeo Sl. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sustainability strategies that align with our corporate values and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy that supports Volotea's long-term goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction on sustainability initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into the company's overall business strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of sustainability programs, including carbon reduction, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) implementation, energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable procurement.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, marketing, and human resources, to promote and implement sustainable practices.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry groups, NGOs, and customers, to advocate for and advance sustainability initiatives.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sustainability performance to executive committees and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to environmental impact and sustainability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the aviation or transportation industry.
  • Experience reporting and communicating on sustainability topics to executive committees.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability strategies and programs.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices in the aviation industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental change.
