Job Title: Senior Construction Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our UK Project team at Saur Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all projects through construction phases, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-execution planning, coordination, and communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Verification of construction packages and management of onsite labour
  • Liaison with onsite client personnel and coordination between design teams and operational delivery
  • Support with programme and project controls activities, including cost control, change management, schedule control, risk management, and reporting tools
  • Supervision of delivery, identification of risks and opportunities, and collaboration with key stakeholders to optimize project delivery
  • Management and development of the onsite supervisory/engineering team, leading project groups and cross-discipline change procedures
  • Chairing weekly meetings onsite to review performance and construction target deadlines, reporting progress and reasons behind any change within Project Review meetings
  • Leading project meetings with client contractors, onsite personnel, and stakeholders
  • Monitoring contract progress and making recommendations for payments
  • Implementing a stringent health and safety policy onsite, ensuring a best-in-class safety environment
  • Maintaining a solid working relationship with the client and managing construction budgets
  • Developing and implementing a plan for project completion and turnover

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree (Preferred)
  • 10 years of experience with onsite coordination, management of multiple subcontractors and suppliers, control of work areas, and quality control on large-scale and complex water and wastewater treatment plant projects
  • Extensive experience within HS Management in an operational setting, involving method statements, accident incident investigation, understanding of current HS legislation, and competence in the use of HS Management
  • Strong leadership and management skills, knowledge, and experience of CDM regulations, and/or knowledge of being the Principal Designer/Contractor
  • CSCS Card and SMSTS qualified
