Musica Sacra is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liturgical Music Director to lead our parish music program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and directing all liturgical music, including playing the organ and directing the parish choirs at Masses, rehearsals, and other occasions.
Key Responsibilities- Music Planning and Direction: Plan and direct all liturgical music, including selecting music for Masses, rehearsals, and other occasions.
- Organ and Choir Direction: Play the organ and direct the parish choirs at Masses, rehearsals, and other occasions.
- Rehearsal and Performance: Conduct weekly choir rehearsals and lead the choirs in performances at Masses and other events.
- Music Library and Instrument Maintenance: Maintain the music library and ensure that all instruments are in good working condition.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the pastor, other clergy, and parish staff to ensure that the music program aligns with the parish's mission and goals.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in music or a related field, and at least 3 years of experience as a parish music director.
- Organ and Choral Conducting: Proficiency on the organ and strong choral conducting ability.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Liturgy and Music Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Roman Catholic liturgy and its music.
