Job Title: Senior Backend Software Developer

Overview: Luzia, a leading AI company in Europe, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Developer to join its founding engineering team. With backing from prominent Silicon Valley investors, Luzia aims to revolutionize conversational capabilities using cutting-edge large language models (LLMs) and alignment techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend services with a focus on efficiency and robustness, particularly in applications involving LLMs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet both performance and business objectives.
  • Develop APIs and manage inter-service communications that underpin AI-driven products.
  • Uphold high standards for code quality and system reliability by implementing best practices in continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Mentor junior developers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems.
  • Engage in system design and architecture discussions, influence product roadmap and project planning.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Backend development, with a strong focus on Python.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest (and proven experience/side projects) in AI.
  • Driven by a customer-centric mindset with a strong focus on product orientation.
  • Familiarity with the startup environment and methodologies.
  • Strives in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep understanding of LLMs and other AI/ML technologies, along with proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud environments, modern databases, and data ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Proactive and self-motivating with strong prioritization skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-performance computing and optimizations.
  • Previous leadership experience or strong project management skills.
  • B2C experience, working with large databases of user information.
  • Experience in AI products/companies.
