About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Engineer at Canonical. As a Community Engineer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the growth and success of our open source community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support community initiatives with technical skills and strong organizational abilities
  • Collaborate with developers to smooth processes and integrate community plans with Canonical plans
  • Encourage and facilitate the creation of new technical projects that enhance the community contribution experience
  • Represent community interests to Canonical teams
  • Provide content and technical support to ensure the community stays engaged and informed
Requirements
  • Experience with developer tools and open source projects
  • Interest and experience with two or more of the following: Ubuntu Linux - kernel or userspace, DevOps, software development, testing and QA, package management, container technology
  • Ability to work autonomously and assume full ownership of objectives as needed
  • Flexibility with time and enjoyment of working with new technology in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with open source communities and understanding the workflow of volunteer contributors
