Job Summary:

Boeing Research and Technology-Europe is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Expert to join our team in Munich, Germany or Madrid, Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our commercial airplanes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide Safety Design and Analysis Expertise: Collaborate with program stakeholders and leadership to provide safety design and analysis expertise.
  2. Utilize Model Based Engineering Tools: Utilize Model Based Engineering/Digital Engineering tools to analyze architectures/designs and develop safety deliverables.
  3. Conduct Research: Conduct research in the area of systems engineering and systems safety, with emphasis in Model Based Safety Analysis (MBSA) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, methods, training and tools.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate or higher of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry or related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in Systems, Systems Safety, Hardware or Software development.
  3. Skills: Experience with ARP4754B, ARP4761A, MIL-STD-882E or similar. Fluent in both verbal and written English.
  4. Travel: Able to travel both domestically and internationally.
  5. Authorization: Must be legally able to work in Europe.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. System Safety Analysis Experience: 5+ years of experience performing system safety analysis and/or studies.
  2. Commercial Airplane Certification Experience: 5+ years of experience with commercial airplane certification, safety requirements and procedures.
  3. System Safety Knowledge: 5+ years of working knowledge of Hazard Analyses, FMEA's, Airplane Level Threats (Particular Risk Analyses) and Fault Trees and/or System Safety Assessments (SSAs).
  4. Aviation System Safety Experience: 5+ years of experience developing/applying aviation related system safety analysis methods such as System Safety Risk Assessments, Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) and Safety Assessment Report (SAR).
  5. Commercial Airplane-Systems Design Experience: 5+ years of experience in Commercial Airplane-Systems design or analysis (e.g. Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels, etc.) or Systems Integration.
  6. Pilots License: Pilots license.
  7. Model Based Safety Analysis Experience: Experience with Model Based Safety Analysis (MBSA), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Engineering application and toolsets (such as MATLAB Simulink, SCADE, Cameo, Rhapsody, CAFTA, PTC Windchill, 3DX, etc.).
  8. Collaboration Skills: Excellent collaboration skills and experience with Agile methodologies.
