Job Title: Software Engineer

At Proofpoint, we're committed to protecting our customers' greatest assets and biggest risks: their people. As a Software Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software applications that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop C++ applications using modern C++ standards (C++11 or newer)
  • Implement and optimize networking protocols and features within software applications
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and other team members to develop high-quality software solutions
  • Debug, test, and profile applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members
  • Work in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and experience with socket programming
  • Proficiency in Linux, with experience developing and deploying applications in a Linux environment
  • Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
