Manufacturing Engineer

BorgWarner is a leading global company in powertrain solutions, dedicated to developing innovative technologies that enhance fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and improve performance. We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join our team as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.
Key Responsibilities- New Business Opportunities (NBO) Management: Develop and manage NBO quotes, ensuring timely and accurate feasibility studies and budget development.
- Capacity Planning and Equipment Utilization: Collaborate with PLMs and manufacturing engineering coordinators to ensure effective capacity planning and equipment utilization in accordance with Long-Range Planning (LRP).
- Research and Development: Identify and implement new technologies and processes within the Manufacturing Engineering department, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with equipment suppliers and ITC engineering roles to support NBO, new product development, and operation support.
- Travel and Representation: Represent the company at various locations and with suppliers, as required.
- Budget Development and Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring reliable quotes and feasibility studies.
- CAPEX Spending and Budgeting: Track and manage CAPEX spending budgets for each department/owner/forecast.
- Capacity Planning and Utilization: Ensure effective capacity planning and equipment utilization in accordance with LRP.
- New Product Requirements: Evaluate and track new NBO product requirements to ensure manufacturability and volume increases in existing products.
- Functional Assistance: Provide functional assistance to PLM or Program Managers in GATE reviews as needed.
- Manufacturing Standards and Specifications: Define specifications for manufacturing standards and facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies for new NBO programs.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborate and support ITC in the development of new technologies and products.
- Process Improvement: Research and compare the latest process technologies and manufacturing techniques to continuously improve product quality and cost.
- Training and Development: Train Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineers in the operation of new equipment.
- Presentation and Communication: Prepare and make presentations to clients, employees, and all levels of the management team.
- APQP Documentation: Support in the development of APQP documentation according to AIAG standards.
- Industrialization and Safety: Coordinate with contractors to ensure the safety of people during the industrialization process and initial sample production.
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing, or related).
Experience: 3-5 years of related work experience in the automotive industry.
Technical Knowledge: High experience in understanding manufacturing processes and quality systems, good organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet program deliverables, program management, experience in applying lean manufacturing tools and techniques in manufacturing processes.
Other Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
