Job DescriptionWe are seeking exceptional software engineers to drive the adoption of Rust in our full range of offerings, starting with Ubuntu but also our own projects and open source initiatives. As a Rust Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for designing and implementing well-tested and well-documented software in Rust, advocating for Rust adoption in Canonical and upstream projects, and identifying projects and codebases that could be prioritized for Rust adoption.

This role requires extensive personal experience with Linux - the more different versions of Linux the better. You will be working in a fully home-based and distributed environment, and will be expected to participate in our engineering process through code and architectural reviews.
