We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to join our team at Norsk Hydro. As a Credit Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the company's investment in trade accounts receivable, minimizing credit risk while supporting profitable growth, controlling Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and supporting sales growth with credit and financial tools tailored for the geographic area and customer portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure and optimize collaboration with business partners, controllers, and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
- Conduct frequent customer visits and collaborate with customers to understand their needs and develop effective credit and collection strategies.
- Participate actively in conference calls and meetings to discuss credit and collection issues and share best practices.
- Control and reduce the risk of receivables, minimize working capital, and bad debt by implementing effective credit and collection processes.
- Coordinate and manage routine and special collection activities, such as RIBA, direct debit, drafts, promissory notes, bill of exchange, documentary credit collection, etc.
- Ensure all Collection Specialists are properly trained, mentored, and coached in collection-specific issues and processes.
- Manage, coordinate collection, documentary collection, and account reconciliation activities of assigned portfolio.
- Analyze trends within the portfolio, develop and execute plans to drive continuous AR & Working Capital improvement.
- Monitor all payments and bad debts, and assist with audits as necessary.
- Test and participate in projects to improve credit and collection processes.
- Adhere to internal and external compliance regulations.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commercial, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years' working experience in Sales, Commercial, Accounting, or Finance field.
- Strong Italian and Spanish language knowledge is required.
- Good command of English, able to communicate orally and in writing effectively.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Able to perform frequent customer visits locally.
- Knowledge of local commercial and market trends is an advantage.
- Driving license.
