Job Summary

Ferrovial is seeking a highly skilled Grid Connection and Transmission Lines Technical Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring power generation projects grid connections are delivered in accordance with DNO / TSO requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance during project development and ensure grid transmission and connection factors are considered.
  • Assess and advise on better project interconnection points to minimize curtailments using appropriate congestion tools.
  • Define grid connections designs that reduce installation time and cost while maintaining or improving plant performance.
  • Carry out technical due diligence and risk assessment on grid connections.
  • Conduct inspections for feasibility checks and alignment with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with P-Q requirements at the Point of Interconnection.
  • Coordinate the preparation of technical documentation for transmission and/or connection projects.
  • Manage Technical Advisors and Consultants to support related activities.
  • Maintain relationships with DNO/TSO to support grid applications.
  • Lead and negotiate the development of EPC / ICP Contract Technical Appendices and Major Equipment Technical specifications.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree associated with electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering.
  • Experience with power flow/voltage and stability simulations in DigSilent and PSSE, or similar, is highly valued.
  • Proven track record and experience in a similar role for more than 6 years.
  • Candidates with experience working directly for DNOs and/or other IPP are preferred.
  • Familiarity with DNO and TSO standards is essential.
  • Experience in the design and construction of HV stations and power lines is highly valued.
  • Good understanding of Grid Connection Agreements in Spain and US ISO.
  • Experience in projects in North America, Spain, and Australia is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, and commercially astute.
