Apply to this job opening and we will be delighted to meet youWho we are looking forWe are looking for a simulations engineer with a startup mindset to develop and optimize Inmersia’s proprietary optics simulation platform, that lies at the heart of the development of next-generation of Inmersia’s near-eye display.The main objective is to expand the software suite by implementing new features that accurately capture complex optical behaviour with a special attention on optimal usage of computational resources.What you will doIdentify correct physical framework(s) to accurately describe complex optical scenariosImplement the corresponding numerical solutions in MATLAB/Python ensuring efficient use of computational resourcesTest code and apply the developed solution to real experimental scenariosEnsure smooth collaboration within the optics simulations team by clearly documenting the code, implementing its version control and managing the repositoriesEnsure smooth collaboration with the optics design team by implementing easy interfacing of the custom simulations with third party software such as ZemaxCreate technical documentation for the intellectual property teamWhat technical skills you haveAbsolute essentialsDeep understanding of Optics (ray, wave, electromagnetics)Experience in developing simulations in MATLAB/PythonAbility to both implement and build (i) numerical methods, (ii) finite element methods and (iii) finite-difference time-domain methods for electromagnetic problemsBasic experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA and Python packages such as CuPy, Numba, etc.Valuable extrasExperience in developing simulations in low-level languages such as C# or C++Experience in image processing and computer visionAbility to implement simulation optimization routinesWhat education you havePhD degree in Physics with a focus on optics simulations with 2 years of additional relevant experience, ideally in AR/VR. xsgfvud Alternatively, Master’s degree in Physics with 6 years of experience in developing optics simulations, preferably for advanced custom optical elements.Professional working level of EnglishWhat personal qualities you haveHigh personal and professional integrityStructured and logical reasoningProactive mindset and autonomous workload managementGood listening skills and open-mindedness to feedback and new ideasAbility to work in a teamInnovative and creative vision to identify new solutions to existing challengesAbility to share information in a structured and concise wayWhich benefits you will gain by working at InmersiaWorking on cutting-edge near-eye displays that can revolutionize the XR industryWorking with world-class talented enthusiastic people towards a common missionStrong opportunities to grow with the startupOrganic evolution of responsibilities (participating in all phases of product development, opportunities to draft patents)Tangible influence on important decision makingPersonal development trainingParticipating in R&D projects with top research institutesFast-paced, productive and pleasant work environmentFlexible working scheduleFull-time permanent contractIndustry competitive fixed salary, complemented with a variable component according to the achievement of specific objectivesIf you are passionate about cutting-edge technology and would like to be part of a startup with great growth prospects, apply to this job opening and we will be delighted to meet you
