Si tiene el perfil adecuado para esta oportunidad, asegúrese de inscribirse hoy mismo.Proyecto de Generación de Conocimiento 2024 by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and UniversitiesIntroduction to the vacant position:The Integrative cell and tissue dynamicsGroup at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Pre-doctoral Researcher to conduct her/his predoctoral training on the mechanobiology of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) colonies.The aim of the project is to combine experimental and computational approaches to unveil how multiscale mechanical cues regulate early patterning and morphogenesis in hPSC colonies. The project will focus on developing tools to measure and control mechanics at multiple spatiotemporal scales, studying their interplay with cell fate specification during human gastrulation models, and creating predictive computational frameworks for the emergent behaviors of hPSC colonies. This research will provide a comprehensive understanding of early developmental processes and establish a foundation for future applications in developmental biology and tissue engineering.The PhD project will be conducted in the framework of the project entitled: " Mechanobiology of micropatterned human pluripotent stem cell colonies (MECHSTEM) ".This fellowship is associated with the research projectGeneración de Conocimiento , funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.Main tasks and responsibilities:• Development of renal, cardiac and retinal derivatives from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) in 2D and 3D cell culture settings.• Development of patient-CAKUT hPSCs to model disease mechanisms.• Design and fabrication of lab-on-a-chip and microfluidic devices.• Development and implementation of a microfluidic platforms to study cell-to-cell and organoid-to-organoid cross-talk.• Implementation of quantitative and qualitative assays to monitor metabolic changes during organoid development in static conditions and in microfluidic platforms.Requirements for candidates:Essential:BSc and MSc in biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomedicine or similar areasCandidates should be ready to enter an official doctoral programme in December 2024 (under Spanish Law). By this time, they must have obtained a university degree and a master's degree; or must hold an official university qualification from a country of the European Higher Education Area with a minimum of 300 ECTS of official university studies, of which at least 60 are at master's level.
