Además, asegúrese de leer todos los requisitos relacionados con este puesto.IBEC is an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community.Introduction to the vacant position: The Bioinspired Interactive Materials and Protocellular Systems group is looking for a PhD student to develop their PhD thesis project on the development of antimicrobial interactive coatings for indwelling medical devices, within the multi‑center project AntiVAPBrush aimed at designing nanocoatings that protect patients from ventilator‑associated pneumonia by selectively killing bacteria while being stealth to airway epithelium.Research ResponsibilitiesPolymerization from surface as well as from biomolecules.Characterization of nanocoatings via surface plasmon resonance, spectroscopy and optical/electron and force microscopies.Synthesis of antimicrobial polymers.Functionalization of nanocoatings with endolysins and antimicrobial polymers.Antimicrobial testing in collaboration with the group of Prof. Jordi Vila (ISGlobal).Cell model of airway epithelia and studies of the interaction of the coatings.Studies of friction of the coating.Essential RequirementsDegree and Master in any field in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Nanoscience, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field.Multidisciplinary qualifications (Physics/Mathematics, Physics/Engineering, etc.) and/or knowledge of polymer science (specifically controlled polymerization).Knowledge about biomaterials and biointerfaces.Willingness to interact with microbiologists and clinicians.Competencies: Communication, teamwork & collaboration, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical & analytical thinking.High level of English.Advantageous ExperiencePolymer synthesis and molecular characterization.Experience in protein production.Experience in cell culture.Experience in microscopy.OfferNumber of positions: 1Starting date: 01/06/2023Working conditions: Temporary (3 years) full‑time contract, measures to reconcile work and family life, IBEC ensures equality of access to professional development opportunities.How to ApplyUntil May 19th an online application form is available through IBEC dedicated site: /.
