Our automotive and industrial business is growing rapidly, and we are now looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Functional Safety Engineer reporting directly to the Functional Safety Manager, you will support the Functional Safety Manager to define and implement the safety architectures for our next generation power portfolio, aimed at automotive applications such as ADAS, Battery Management, Powertrain and more. With experience, you will be instrumental in building our functional safety development framework and have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and customers across our global locations (US, Europe, Asia).Job FunctionsArchitecting hardware solutions to enable company product compliance with applicable safety standards such as ISO26262 and IEC61508Working with engineering teams (technical marketing, design, quality and more) to support the Functional Safety Manager to derive functional safety requirements in compliance with state‑of‑the‑art automotive standardsOverseeing and owning implementation of ISO26262 documentation in JAMAPerforming the safety analysis, such as DFA, FMEDA, and FTASupporting the safety assessments with third‑party assessorsPartnering with technical marketing engineers to develop mutually agreeable design specificationsParticipating in ISO 26262 standards conferenceOccasional domestic and international travel (5‑10% of the time)Experience Requirements2+ years work experience in safety‑relevant IC product developmentStrong understanding of analog/mixed‑signal ICsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions and across regionsStrong time‑management skills that enable on‑time project deliveryAbility to work effectively in a fast‑paced and rapidly changing environmentAbility to take the initiative and drive for resultsStrong understanding of the functional safety‑relevant IC product development process is a plusAutomotive or industrial experience a plusExperience with ISO26262 or IEC61508 a plusExperience with MCU or sensor development a plusEducation RequirementsBS or MS in electrical engineering, system engineering, or automotive engineeringLocationBarcelonaMunichMonolithic Power Systems, Inc.
