The Technical Sales Engineer will execute and manage the presales process, being involved in prospect qualification, performing product demonstrations, responding to RFQ/RFPs as well as taking ownership of PoCs and product evaluations. To excel in this role, you need to be a motivated self-starter, who exhibits an insatiable curiosity about what “is possible” with technology, loves solving challenging problems and working directly with customers.As a Technical Sales Engineer you will work closely across various company activities such as product development, sales and marketing, and customer relations. Your job will also include understanding the customer’s needs, actively observing customer behavior and predicting future needs for product development.ResponsibilitiesPreparation of presentations, demos, use cases, solutions and discussions about OpenNebula.Speaking and demonstrating OpenNebula at eventsDriving high levels of engagement through solution positioning and RFQ/RFP responses focused on the detailed feature-set capabilities and highlighting the business value of the solution.Conducting discovery sessions with prospects, partners and customers to understand their current cloud deployment and challenges, as well as their future objectives and goals.Qualifying business alignment and technical fit between prospect, customer and partner requirements and OpenNebula product and servicesDesigning and supervising Proof of Concepts (PoCs) with OpenNebulaKeeping up with the latest industry developments, including market positioning of corporate competitorsDeveloping and nurturing relationships with key customer accountsExperience requiredAcademic Background and CertificationsBachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineeringProfessional Experience3+ years of Experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Presales Engineer or similar role3+ years overall IT/cloud BackgroundExperience responding to RFP’s and RFI’s & managing POCs.Experience working with global customersTechnical ExperienceAdvanced administration of Linux environments: RHEL/AlmaLinux, Ubuntu/DebianExperience using virtualization technologies such as, KVM, LXC, libvirt/QEMU and/or VMwareDemonstrated technical writing skillsExperience working with other cloud management platforms is strongly preferredExperience in AI from an IaaS perspective in relation to use cases, GPUs, etc would be very advantageousLanguage SkillsEnglish fluency at a professional or native-equivalent level, with excellent clarity and expression in both writing and speech.Soft Skills & CollaborationStrong customer service mindset, with a focus on responsiveness and user satisfaction.Clear communication and documentation with strong written and verbal English, async collaboration, and visibility of work.Self-management and accountability with ability to work independently, manage time, and take ownership of tasks and deadlinesTechnical autonomy and tool proficiency with confidence in using Git, CI/CD, remote collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, GitHub, etc.), and solving problems without direct supervisionWhat's in it for me?Some of our benefits and perks vary depending on location and employment type, but we are proud to provide employees with the following;Competitive compensation package and Flexible Remuneration Options: Meals, Transport, Nursery/Childcare…Customized workstation (macOS, Windows, Linux any distro is welcome)Private Health Insurance6 hours workday on Fridays and everyday during AugustPTO: Holidays, Personal Time, Sick Time, Parental leave. xsgfvud All Remote company with bright HQ centrally located in Madrid, and offices in Boston (USA) and Brno (Czech Republic)Healthy Work-Life Balance : We encourage the right for Digital Disconnecting and promote harmony between employees personal and professional livesFlexible hiring options: Full Time/Part Time, Employee (Spain/Usa) / Contractor (other locations)We are building an awesome, Engineering First Culture and your opinion matters: Thrive in the high-energy environment of a young company where openness, collaboration, risk-taking, and continuous growth are valuedBe exposed to a broad technology ecosystem.
