Si confía en que tiene las habilidades y la experiencia adecuadas, envíe su solicitud hoy mismo.Introduction to the vacant position:The Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Group is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate the therapeutic potential of active nanoparticles for translational applications.The contract will be within the framework of the ERC Consolidator Grant namediNanoSwarmswhich aims at studying the collective behaviour of active nanoparticles (swarming intelligence), their cooperative motion, and their application as drug delivery systems. Our group has extensive expertise in active nanoparticles, spanning from fundamental research to innovative biomedical applications. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced researcher with a background in nanomedicine, drug delivery, nanoparticles, or closely related fields. The ideal candidate will advance and/or lead ongoing research lines or introduce new directions in applying nanobots to biomedicine. Examples of applications of nanobots can be found in the recent publications of the group (see Simo, Serra et al. Nature Nanotech 2024; Ruiz et al. Small 2024 or Serra et al. ACS Nano 2024).Main tasks and responsibilities:Test and evaluate the therapeutic effect of active nanoparticles in vitro and in vivo.Study of the physico-chemical interactions of nanoparticles with biological fluids.Study of the mechanism of action of drug loading nanobots in vitro.Guide bachelor, master, and PhD students.Interaction and reporting within the group and with private foundations and companies.Actively working in the development of new ideas that give rise to future and/or evolution of projects and generation of intellectual property.Requirements for candidates:Essential:PhD in the field of biology, biomedicine, pharmacy, nanomedicine, biochemistry or nanobiotechnology.Experience with cell cultures (cell lines and primary cells).Experience with confocal microscopy.Experience with flow cytometry.Knowledge on nanoparticles or on self-propelled nanoparticles will be a plus.Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.High level of EnglishWe Offer:Number of available positions: 1Starting date: April / May 2025Working conditions:Full time 1-yearcontract.Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget durationMeasures to reconcile work and family life (parental leave, flexible schedule working hours, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others).IBEC ensures equality of access to professional development opportunities irrespective of employment status, length at IBEC or other factors.
