Shape the future of data at Axpo As a Data Engineer (Software), you’ll turn data into valuable insights, supporting high-performing models for our Trading and Sales teams in an international, innovative environment.What You Will DoCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and orchestrate simultaneous trading workflows in different geographiesBuild and operate reliable, testable software solutions supporting algorithmic trading modelsCode professional data pipelines, ensuring operational reliabilityDesign clean interfaces and reusable libraries; enforce typing, contracts, and clear module boundariesCollaborate with an international team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists, aligning stakeholders on changes and orchestrating cross-team releasesWhat You BringMust-havesBachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or 2-3 years of equivalent practical experience (must-have)Fluency in Python and SQL, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready data softwareStrong grasp of clean code practices (e.g., SOLID principles, modular design, testability) to build maintainable and scalable systemsHands-on data engineering in cloud environments, especially Databricks (PySpark) or Microsoft AzureProficient in EnglishPragmatic, action-oriented mindset and strong communication skills, especially in diverse, multicultural teamsNice to haveFamiliarity with CI/CD practices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Domain exposure to energy or financial tradingMLOps practices (e.g., MLflow, model registries, feature stores)Experience with time-series/streaming pipelines and real-time systemsAbout The TeamAdvanced Analytics within Axpo Trading & Sales powers short-term power trading with high-reliability data and ML platforms.
