The contract will be within the framework of ongoing projects of the laboratory, whose objectives include both fundamental investigation of photoelectron transport and the development of novel instrumentation, biosensors, and biomimetic devices.Main tasks and responsibilities:Perform experiments in electrochemistry of redox proteins and photosynthetic complexes (photochronoamperometry, voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy)Perform experiments in electrochemical tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy of redox proteins and photosynthetic complexesImprove and develop new instruments for electrochemical and single molecule measurements.Carry out structure-based computational calculations of the protein reactivity and molecular interactions to interpret the experimental resultsRequirements for candidates:Ph.D. in chemistry, physics or equivalentExperience in electrochemical characterization of materials or sensorsExperience in electrochemical tunneling microscopy and spectroscopyExperience building or customizing instrumentationExperience in other scanning probe techniques is a plusComputational programming for data analysis and chemical analysis is a plus.Experience in other interface characterization methods is a plus.Experience in protein manipulation is a plusCompetencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinkingHigh level of EnglishWe Offer:Number of available positions: 1Starting date: 1/03/2026Working conditions:Full time, flexible schedule working hours, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others).Measures to reconcile work and family life (maternity and paternity leave.Full time 1-year contractCompetitive salary according to experience.IBEC ensures equality of access to professional development opportunities irrespective of employment status, length at IBEC or other factors.
