The goal is to make Ceph easy to install, manage and use across large data‑center installations and edge sites.What You'll DoLead a team building a Ceph focused software defined storage solutionBuild and manage a globally distributed team of engineersDevelop team members through coaching, mentoring and feedbackContribute directly to the team’s technical goals, demonstrating sound engineering principlesSet realistic schedules with feedback loops for continuous improvementManage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholdersAdvance modern, agile software development practicesMaintain a culture of quality and engineering excellenceFoster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company valuesCollaborate with other leaders as a member of the leadership teamWork from home with up to 20% global travel for internal and external eventsWho You AreSoftware engineering background, preferably with Python and C++ experienceExperience operating scale‑out storage clusters on Linux in production, preferably with CephPassion for embracing new technologies and pushing boundariesTrack record of developing people and building high‑performance teamsInterest in building products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure everywhereKnowledgeable and passionate about software developmentExperience leading, managing, coaching and mentoring software developers in an agile environmentSolid experience working in an agile development environmentCanonical is an equal opportunity employer.We are proud to foster a workplace free from discrimination.
