Conduct risk assessments and provide proactive legal advice to mitigate potential legal issues.Data protection: Serve as the Data Protection Officer, responsible for implementing data protection strategies, managing data-related incidents, and maintaining records of processing activities in accordance with GDPR requirements.Legal advisory: Provide legal advice on a wide range of issues including intellectual property, employment law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.Policy development: Develop and update internal policies and procedures to reflect current laws and regulations, promoting legal and ethical integrity.Litigation management: Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries, and coordinate with external counsel as necessary to manage litigation cases.Training and development: Conduct training sessions for staff on legal compliance, particularly focusing on data protection and GDPR.Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with various departments to provide legal support and ensure compliance across all aspects of the business.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent qualification in Law.Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong background in business law and data protection.Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer and thorough understanding of GDPR compliance.Experience in the technology or health sector is highly preferred.Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Proactive, willing to learn, have an impact and grow in the company.Team player capable of adapting to changes in a fast-paced environment.Able to work autonomously, with discipline and high motivation and energy.What We OfferFull-remote position.We are a team of committed professionals, so you choose where you work from.All processes need to be designed with remote work in mind.No in-person meetings; all conversations happen on Slack or Hangouts.Flexible compensation (Cobee) includes daycare and restaurant benefits.Flexible vacation policy: 23 working days per year + 2 additional days granted by the company (your birthday and December 7th) + 2 days for company closure per labor agreement (December 24th and 31st).Flexible working hours.Full-time contract.Starting day: as soon as possible.Competitive salary according to your experience.Languages: high Spanish and English proficiency (writing and speaking).
