The company operates in more than 80 countries and encourages distributed collaboration.We are hiring aLead Python Software Engineerfor the Integrations team within the Commercial Systems unit. The team automates SaaS user management, onboarding of new data sources to the data mesh, and integrates internal and external data sources using open‑source ETL solutions.LocationRemote within the EMEA region.Role ResponsibilitiesDevelop engineering solutions leveraging Python.Collaborate with colleagues on technical designs and code reviews.Deploy and operate services developed by the team.Coach, mentor and provide career development feedback based on seniority.Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.QualificationsExceptional academic track record from both high school and university.Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative narrative.Track record of going above and beyond expectations.Experience with software development in Python.Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.Results‑oriented, driven to meet commitments.Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks.Nice‑to‑have skillsPerformance engineering and security experience.Experience with Airbyte, Ranger, Temporal, or Trino.What we offerDistributed work environment with twice‑yearly in‑person team sprints.Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.Annual compensation review and performance‑driven bonus or commission.Recognition rewards, annual holiday leave, maternity and paternity leave.Employee Assistance Program.Opportunity to travel to new locations to meet colleagues.Priority Pass and travel upgrades for long‑haul company events.About CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source.
