Joining our Healthcare team is becoming part of a diverse, inclusive and flexible working culture, presenting great opportunities for personal development and career advancement across the globe.Role and locationThis position requires on-site presence in Spain and offers a multicultural, agile work environment with autonomy in decision-making.ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Cloud Platform Back-End Engineer in the Data & AI Solutions - Engineering team within Healthcare R&D, leverage AWS expertise to enhance a cloud-based analytics platform for drug development.Implement the technical roadmap, maintain platform functionalities, adapt to emerging technologies, and manage infrastructure and security.Design new features, oversee deployments, and optimize performance updates.Implement data archival strategies and manage compliance with data regulations.QualificationsA university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Exceptional problem-solving skills.Around 5 years of relevant experience.Proven track record building and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native systems using AWS at an enterprise level.Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.Willingness to work in a multinational environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the US, Europe (primarily Germany), and India.A strong sense of accountability and ownership, with capacity for rapid learning.Key Technical Skills and ExperienceProgramming: Python, SQL, and strong proficiency in an object-oriented language such as Scala, C#, or Java.Architecture: RESTful APIs and microservices on AWS; AWS Lambda with boto3; serverless design.Cloud: AWS services (VPC, IAM, STS, EKS, RDS, EC2, ECS, SQS, SNS, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, MWAA).Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate.Best practices: OOP, SOLID, data and service contracts; code quality and documentation; code reviews.CI/CD & Automation: CI/CD pipelines, experience with Azure DevOps.Testing: Unit and integration testing and mocking frameworks.Security: AWS security best practices (MFA, encryption, IAM roles and policies).Data Tools: Iceberg and Snowflake.Nice to haveTerraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for infrastructure automation; Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management.Experience building streaming applications (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).Knowledge of NoSQL databases.This role can be hired in Portugal and Poland, in addition to Spain.RoleExpert 3What we offerWe are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.
