The Utility Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of utility systems, including HVAC, water supply, power distribution, and gas networks. This role spans the entire project lifecycle—from concept to completion—ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.Presente su candidatura después de leer los siguientes requisitos de habilidades y cualificaciones para este puesto.Key ResponsibilitiesBe an integral part of the local engineering team based in SpainServe as the primary point of contact for all discussions with engineering partners and contractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectivesProvide technical oversight for utility systems throughout design and execution phasesOptimize system performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsCollaborate closely with engineering partners and contractors during construction activitiesManage overall project execution for utility-related workstreams, ensuring timelines and quality standards are metProject DescriptionThe project involves the design, construction, and commissioning of a state-of-the-art facility in Gijón, Spain, dedicated to the production of Precursor Cathode Active Material (PCAM) and associated refining processes. This facility will play a critical role in supporting the growing demand for advanced battery materials, enabling sustainable energy solutions for the European market.We are looking for local Spanish contractors.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAct as technical lead for all project aspects related to HVAC and utilitiesEnsure compliance of assigned tasks with global engineering standards across the siteTake full technical responsibility for construction and commissioning activities within assigned disciplinesDemonstrate ownership and accountability for dedicated disciplines, introducing improvements, selecting optimal solutions, and safeguarding technical and financial interests (CAPEX and OPEX)Lead discussions on safety, design, construction progress, cost, and other project aspectsMonitor and support procurement of critical equipment for investment projectsShare knowledge and expertise within the local Utilities Engineering team and Global Engineering TeamReview and provide feedback on all technical documentation (designs, as-built documentation, specifications, datasheets, material approvals, change requests, RFIs, submittals)Evaluate scopes of work for future investments for completeness and technical soundnessAlign technical solutions with designers and ensure consultation with Asset Management and Operations departmentsMonitor site irregularities and take corrective actions per agreed processesVerify equipment supplier schedules and subcontractor progress reportsControl costs related to construction implementation and validate additional work proposals for technical and financial feasibilityIdentify and execute cost-saving opportunities through technical re-evaluation of contractor offers in collaboration with the CAPEX teamOptimize technical solutions, equipment, and processes with a strong focus on OPEX savingsCapture and implement lessons learned into future projectsSupport civil and construction design projects from initial planning and concept design to final implementation and testingCheck detailed technical drawings, including P&ID diagrams, and ensure proper documentation for design processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, vendors, and clients, to ensure seamless project executionAddress technical challenges, optimize designs for performance and manufacturability, and provide solutions during development and implementation phasesTechnical Requirements7+ years experience within Utilities design and commissioning within an industrial engineering environmentExperience with AutoCad, Plant 3D, Naviswork and AutodeskExperience in managing greenfield projects under EPCm and EPC contract modelsMinimum 3 xsgfvud years of professional experience working on construction sitesSolid understanding and application of health and safety regulationsNon-Technical RequirementsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to identify, define, and resolve complex problems effectivelySkilled in assessing needs and driving organizational change initiativesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilitiesSelf-motivated, open-minded, and adaptable to dynamic environmentsPositive attitude with a proactive approach to challenges and new opportunitiesExpertise in anticipating potential risks and implementing mitigation strategiesAcademic RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related fieldLanguage ProficienciesFluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and writtenStrong practical English skills to read and interpret technical documentsAbility to conduct technical and safety discussions confidently in EnglishLocation :North of Spain, region of Asturia : GijonUntil end of 2026 / beginning 2027 remote work, with visits to the site / partners covered via business travel expensesTravel will be required inside (mainly Barcelona) and outside Spain#J-18808-Ljbffr
