Join Our Team as a Travel Insurance Underwriter in Spain

What you’ll be doing:

- Evaluate travel insurance applications, analyzing risks and determining appropriate coverage and pricing.

- Analyze financial, medical, and travel-related information to make sound underwriting decisions.

- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with company policies and guidelines to achieve profitable growth.

- Oversee the issuance, renewal, and modification of travel insurance policies.

- Monitor claims trends and loss ratios, adjusting underwriting strategies accordingly.

- Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to optimize pricing and coverage options.

- Work closely with brokers, agents, and partners to provide underwriting support and guidance.

- Train sales teams on policy features and underwriting guidelines.

- Guarantee that all underwriting activities adhere to relevant regulatory and legal requirements in the markets.

- Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for product and service improvements.

- Support the development of new products and underwriting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

- Participate in process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance accuracy and efficiency in underwriting.

What you’ll bring:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in travel insurance underwriting, preferably in the Spanish market.

- Deep understanding of underwriting principles, regulatory compliance, and market trends.

- Ability to evaluate insurance applications, analyze medical, financial, and travel-related data, and make sound underwriting decisions.

- Skills in preparing pricing models and managing new, renewal, and modified policies.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal teams, and to provide training and guidance on underwriting policies.

- Results-oriented mindset with attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

- Knowledge of the Spanish insurance market and experience with international/pan-European deals is a plus.
