ASPHALION is a leading international consulting firm in the growing pharmaceutical and biotech sector. We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer in Barcelona who, serving on the direction committee, will be responsible for the following duties:

Main responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with quality, service, and profitability standards for projects in different business areas.
- Oversee the profitability of operational areas, ensuring a balance between cost efficiency and service excellence.
- Monitor operating budgets and critical KPIs to ensure the sustainable growth of the company.
- Analyze and redesign current operational flows to improve efficiency and profitability through automation and advanced software.
- Analyze improvements in company processes and propose improvements through digitization and the implementation of new tools.
- Lead strategic meetings and coordinate area managers to meet the objectives set by the company.
- Organize and lead internal meetings to achieve previously set objectives.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences or related fields; MBA is a plus.

- Minimum 8 years of experience in senior operational leadership roles (COO, Operations Director or similar), preferably in pharma, biotech or consulting environments.

- Strong background in operations management, budget control and profitability optimization across multiple business areas.

- Solid knowledge of financial management, including P&L oversight, cost control and KPI monitoring.

- Proven experience in process optimization, automation and digital transformation, including implementation of advanced software tools.

- High level of spoken and written English (C1+)

- Strategic and hands-on leadership with experience working at executive committee level.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.

- Change-oriented, proactive and focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
