OFFER DESCRIPTION
The Promoter of EU Projects will provide strategic and operational support to the organization in the identification, development, and management of European Union-funded projects. This role involves monitoring funding opportunities, fostering partnerships with academic, industrial, and non-academic stakeholders, and supporting the preparation, submission, and follow-up of proposals.
The position also includes promoting the organization’s participation in EU initiatives, facilitating consortium building, and ensuring compliance with EU regulations and reporting requirements.
Additionally, the Promoter of EU Projects will contribute to capacity-building activities, including training sessions, workshops, and the dissemination of project results.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic planning and identification of funding opportunities
- Identify relevant calls for ICRA, especially within the Horizon Europe program and other international initiatives.
- Develop and maintain internal tools for tracking and disseminating funding opportunities.
- Coordinate regular meetings with researchers and research groups for strategic planning and the definition of thematic priorities.
2. Promotion of collaboration and internationalization
- Promote cooperation with academic institutions, research centers, companies, and public and private sector entities.
- Organize brokerage events and networking sessions at the national and European level.
- Support ICRA’s active participation in networks, consortia, and European strategic initiatives.
3. Technical support in the preparation of European proposals (pre-award phase)
- Advise and support research staff in the writing, review, and submission of European proposals.
- Facilitate partner searches and the setup of international consortia.
- Organize workshops and training on proposal writing, results management, and dissemination and exploitation strategies.
4. Management and monitoring of European projects (post-award phase)
- Provide support in the administrative, financial, and technical management of ongoing projects.
- Organize training sessions on European regulations, financial reporting, and consortia management.
5. Communication, training, and knowledge transfer
- Prepare informative and dissemination materials on the activities and results of European projects.
- Contribute to ICRA’s strategic positioning as a reference center in leadership and European participation.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Must have – Required
Research Field or Field of knowledge: Deep knowledge of the European and international funding framework (Horizon Europe, EIC, LIFE, etc.).
Management and coordination of international and European projects: European regulations and best practices in the management and reporting of EU-funded projects.
Qualifications and Education Level: Higher university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Project Management, or related disciplines.
Skills: Ability to work in coordination with researchers and multidisciplinary research groups. Skills in consortium management, networking, and development of strategic alliances. Excellent written and oral communication skills, adapting messages to different audiences and preparing reports, presentations, and dissemination materials.
Required Languages: Fluent English, both spoken and written, is required. Catalan and Spanish.
Required Experience: Previous experience as a Project Manager in the international arena, with responsibility for coordinating, monitoring, and executing projects funded by European or international institutions. Experience in providing technical and administrative support for international projects, including proposal preparation, consortium management, budget monitoring, and reporting to funders. Knowledge of European processes and regulations applicable to funded projects, with the ability to ensure compliance and quality in project management. Postgraduate or master’s degree in project management, international project management, or similar programs. A PhD degree will be considered an asset.

Selection process:
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
