Job Summary: We are looking for a talented Narrative Designer to lead the storytelling for our causal mobile game . You will be responsible for building an engaging world, crafting compelling characters, and ensuring a seamless blend between story and gameplay to drive player long-term retention.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Core Narrative Architecture: Lead the design of the game’s world-building and main storylines. Responsible for scriptwriting, dialogue, and all in-game text.
2. Character & Asset Conceptualization: Design key characters, settings, and props based on the world-building, ensuring narrative consistency across the gameplay loop.
3. Cross-department Collaboration: Write clear narrative design documents (NDDs) for Art and Technical teams. Provide creative support to ensure the story is visually and mechanically realized.
4. System Integration: Design and configure narrative content for quests, levels, and events to enhance player immersion and emotional engagement.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: 3+ years of experience in game narrative design/creative writing. Must have contributed to at least one full cycle of a game from development to launch.
2. Market Expertise: Proficient in narrative logic and player preferences for the Western casual game market. Able to independently build worldviews that resonate with Western aesthetics.
3. Cultural Fluency: Deep understanding of Western pop culture, art styles, and storytelling traditions. Capable of creating culturally authentic content.
4. Passion & Literacy: Passionate about casual games, story-driven media, and literature. Possess extensive reading habits and exceptional writing skills.
5. Soft Skills: Excellent teamwork, efficient communication, and a strong sense of ownership.
