Job Overview

A Professional Claims Adjuster works under the direction of a Team Manager, performing a range of technical checks and processes a variety of insurance documentation for different customers and classes of business.

All work processed must meet agreed service levels in respect of quality and turnaround times.

Training will be provided for all insurance documentation / systems required to perform the role.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

- Strong numeracy, verbal and literacy skills

- Ability to manage and adjust all inward claims within claims handling/settlement authority and in accordance with claims handling procedures.

- Report claims in accordance with claims reporting requirements

- Computer literate with working knowledge of Outlook and MS Office

- Work to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail

- Strong organisational, personal and time management skills

- Ability to demonstrate strong negotiating and influencing skills

- Positive attitude and natural curiosity to identify improvements

- Need to have a good understanding of insurance wordings

- Understanding of principles and practice of insurance.

- Previous experience in handling liability claims (UK & US liability) (Employers Liability, Public Liability/General Liability, Products Liability etc.)

- Experience of working closely with customers, brokers, underwriters.
