Data Governance Engineer – Middle to Senior Level

Location: 100% Remote from Spain or Portugal

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: €62,100 gross per year

Role Overview

We are seeking a Middle to Senior Data Platform Engineer with experience in Data Governance, Azure Cloud, and data platform operations. You’ll be responsible for supporting and improving key data management platforms including Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra, enabling data engineers and technical stakeholders to innovate and deliver secure, high-quality data products.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field
- 3+ years of experience in IT projects and platform support roles
- Familiarity with Data Management and Data Engineering concepts
- Hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra
- Proficient in Azure Cloud tools and infrastructure
- Skilled in setting up and managing Azure DevOps pipelines
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Proactive mindset, strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and innovate within Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra data platforms across the organization
- Provide technical support, communication, and enablement to data engineers and platform users
- Lead Operations & Service Delivery activities: Change Management, Configuration Management, LCM, and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance and security across data systems in line with company policies
- Monitor, optimize, and enhance platform availability and reliability
- Develop and deploy automations via CI/CD pipelines in Azure Cloud

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Bash, Azure CLI, PowerShell, REST APIs, or Terraform
- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices
- Exposure to AWS is a plus
