About the role — this role is focused on Spain, one of Bigblue’s most operationally critical markets today and a key pillar of future network expansion.
The Operations Manager will own end-to-end warehouse operations, including performance, cost, capacity, and execution quality, with a strong hands-on presence in day-to-day operations. This is not a purely strategic role. Bigblue is an execution-driven company, and this position requires being deeply immersed in daily operations, on the warehouse floor, working directly with teams and partners to identify issues and drive improvements in real time.
What you’ll do
- Own and run fulfillment operations in Spain (hands-on)
- Take full responsibility for the operational performance of Spanish warehouses
- Be present in the day-to-day operations: understand issues first-hand
- Act as the senior operational owner with our 3PL partner(s), ensuring a strong relationship, vision alignment, execution quality, discipline, and accountability
- Ensure operational deadlines and reporting commitments are consistently met
- Act as operational point of contact for tier 1 merchant escalations
- Drive operational excellence & cost performance
- Define, track, and actively manage core operational KPIs: productivity, throughput, inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, workforce efficiency, and cost per order
- Improve daily forecasting and workforce planning, monitoring productivity at a granular level and acting quickly on deviations
- Lead deep cost analysis to identify inefficiencies, savings opportunities, and margin improvement levers
- Translate operational complexity into structured processes and standards
- Structure and professionalize warehouse operations
- Improve warehouse organization, roles, and ownership: clear scope, responsibilities, and accountability
- Implement strong operational routines: daily checklists, performance reviews, weekly reporting, and follow-up mechanisms
- Raise the operational bar through standardization, discipline, and continuous improvement
- Drive execution rigor across all operational projects
- Prioritization, execution & follow-up
- Establish clear prioritization between operational constraints and merchant needs, ensuring internal alignment
- Focus teams on high-impact operational issues and ensure they are resolved
- Maintain structured tracking of operational pain-points, action plans, owners, and timelines
- Ensure follow-through and measurable outcomes
- Lead expansion & new hub openings
- Lead the full lifecycle of new warehouses in Spain
- Anticipate capacity constraints in existing hub and proactively design capacity efficiency and merchant allocation
- Own the ramp-up and stabilization phase of new sites until performance targets are met
- Drive continuous improvement projects
- Lead operational projects across Inbounds, Outbounds, Returns, Value added services and space optimization
- Improve productivity by bringing new ideas from testing to implementation
- Drive consolidation initiatives to improve space usage and efficiency
- Ensure operational improvements are measurable and sustainable
- Design, build, and implement new merchant services (e.g. fashion vertical)
- Conduct continuous operational and market intelligence to challenge existing providers on performance, cost, and capabilities
- Prepare strategic next moves (renegotiation, diversification, or partner changes) to support Bigblue’s growth and competitiveness
- Own operational execution of Atlas in Spain
- Be the operational owner for the implementation of new Atlas (own WMS) releases in Spanish warehouses
- Ensure proper adoption and execution at warehouse level
- Act as the bridge between warehouse operations and Product/Tech, bringing concrete operational feedback from the field
Who you are
- Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in high-volume e-commerce fulfillment operations
- Strong background in warehouse operations (fulfillment)
- Experience working with 3PLs and holding them accountable on cost and performance
- Exposure to high-volume, complex environments (large e-commerce brands, marketplaces, or 3PLs)
- Experience in fast-growing or less structured environments; able to operate without heavy corporate layers
- Skills & mindset
- Strong analytical and financial skills: cost analysis, productivity metrics, margin drivers
- Hands-on, execution-first mindset: leads from the field, not only from dashboards
- High ownership and accountability
- Excellent project management and prioritization skills
- Able to structure chaos and turn operational issues into clear action plans
- Comfortable challenging partners and internal teams when needed
- Language: Fluent in English and Spanish
