The incorporation of the selected person would be made to the Thermal Storage department of the research center.
- Design and synthesis of new materials optimized for long-term storage of solar or residual heat
- Scaling up your manufacturing for further testing on storage heating/cooling systems
- Study of reversible gas-solid reactions such as hydration/dehydration and carbonation/decarbonation reactions
- Study of how new materials interact with the physical structures that contain them, such as thermal storage tanks, pipes, ducts, etc
- Close interdisciplinary collaboration with CIIAE colleagues. As well as collaboration with universities, research institutes and companies at a national and international level.
- Support, supervision and tutoring of doctoral students, postdocs and master's students
- Writing of scientific publications and presentation of results in international conference
- Acquisition of competitive financing, both private and public, project management and project administration
Challenges:
- Develop new thermochemical materials with the desired thermal and physical properties
- Improve output power taking into account that solid state reactions are usually slow.
Guarantee the cyclical stability of the developed materials.

**Requisitos**
The selected person is required to have:
- Doctorate in one of the following disciplines: Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or similar.
- Assessable: Master's degree in Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanophysics and advanced materials, Interface Physics/Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry
- At least two years of postdoctoral experience
- To be valued, demonstrated competence in the synthesis and characterization of nano/micro-porous materials including metal-organic frameworks, zeolites, ceramics, carbon materials, etc.
- To be valued, experience in characterization techniques: gas adsorption (SSA, DVS), porosimetry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), microscopy (TEM, SEM, AFM, XPS), FTIR, Raman, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). ), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), etc.
- To assess competence in characterization and control of wettability
- Demonstrated experience in participation and/or collaboration in R+D+i projects will be valued

- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and work in a team
- Commitment to open science practices, eg open access publishing, dissemination activities, development of open educational resources, open source software development.
- Demonstrable experience in collaborations inside and outside the work department
- Solid track record of publications in scientific journals.
The number and relevance of scientific publications / congresses referring to the main topic of the position will be valued.
**¿Qué ofrecemos?**
Contract until September 2025, but with the possibility of continuing to be part of the centre in the long term.
