**Responsibilities and scope of work**:
Edge IoT platform and microservices architecture design, build and test to support Cloud-Edge APIs, Pub/Sub messaging (MQTT), scalability and business logic.
Responsible for software architecture, design, and implementation of software components related to our IoT connected products to be in alignment with our Enterprise Level Architecture principles and to be scalable, cost effective and fast.
Collaborate with BMS Integrations Engineers, Embedded Software Engineers, HW Engineers, DevOps, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver appropriate data that meets the product and technical needs of the various platforms.
Provide support to architecture, design, and implementation teams related to our IoT connected products.
Lead activities in designing and architecting data storage by balancing performance, cost, and storage tradeoffs through various database technologies (SQL, NOSQL).
Implement security best practices and typical models, identify and recommend appropriate solutions for connected products to meet stringent requirements.
Lead the adoption of best-in-class software engineering practices, frameworks, and tools.
Collaborator in maintaining the backlog and release plans, publish reports to ensure the product owner is updated about the team's progress together with the Product Owner and Agile Practitioners/Scrum Masters.
Enabler for the effective functioning of a software development team using Agile Methodology.
Maintain and further improve TDD and BDD processes for enabling the quality by design principles.
Experience working with tools to manage workflow/issue tracking (e.g., Atlassian Jira)
Dealing with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)
Define system functional requirements.
Research, assess and adapt to new technologies necessary for future enhancements of products.
Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
Improve and further develop release management process and procedures.
Engage with the developer community.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking
Strong written and communication skills in English language required.
**Requirements Include**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
10+ years of proven experience as a software engineer with progressively increased responsibility, including architecting and developing components or features.
Practical experience in developing serverless or microservice solutions (Python, AWS, Terraform).
Practical experience in developing on Cloud systems (AWS preferred).
Practical experience in event-driven IT automation, remote task execution, and configuration management supporting the IaC (AWS System Manager, Salt Stack, AWS GreenGrass)
Strong understanding of Cloud-Edge based IoT solutions, having built or been part of a team that delivered an IoT solution.
Practical experience building data structures (e.g., relational, document, graph) and data sources (e.g., NoSQL, RDBMS, files) for various data types.
Practical experience designing and controlling APIs for consistency, simplicity, and extensibility.
Strong AWS microservice development - e.g., Lambda, Amazon S3, AWS IoT Core, SNS, SQS, Amazon API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kinesis.
Experience with Event-driven/Async APIs as well as with OpenAPI (OAS)/Swagger API specification development
Understand how to build scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems
Strong communication and documentation skills.
