Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) 1
The Department for Business & Trade (DBT) is an international economic government department securing UK and global prosperity by promoting and financing international trade and investment and championing free trade.
Our **Intern** will work mainly in a supporting role with many opportunities to work in areas such as event management, relationship building with UK and Spanish companies, business reporting and social media communications. This is an excellent opportunity for our **Intern **to put into practice, and broaden their business and communication skills.
**_ What will you be expected to do:_**
**General Support**
- Supporting Officers/areas that do not have access to specific support resources (i.e. Country Director, Trade Policy Officer, Operations Support Coordinator).
- Acting as a floating resource in any other areas/sectors assisting with:
- Project support
- Event management and coordination
- VIP visits
- Stakeholder management
- Market research, including of UK & Spanish businesses
- Recording activity in internal CRM system
Essential qualifications, skills and experience 1
- Fluency at C1 level in English and Spanish (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*).
- Currently studying at a Spanish University where the student will remain in the same course or field of study, for the entire duration of the internship period.
- High level of motivation and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic and hardworking, with ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative when required.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point)
- Able to work under pressure and to juggle competing deadlines.
- Excellent researching skills and ability to look for information about a company or sector on the Internet and obtain information by phone.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience 1
- Currently studying in a related field e.g. Business Management, International Relations, International Trade.
- Some working experience or participation in other internship programmes

This is an internship position for curricular or extra-curricular credits as part of a student´s current university degree. This is a part-time internship offer of 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. The working hours are 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:00am and 14.00pm.
The Spain network has its own Flexible Working Policy. Individual details must be agreed between the employee and their Line Manager; however it is expected that the Intern will be physically present at the office on a daily basis, during the initial training/probation period.

FCDO does not pay for travel related expense incurred in interviews (including Security Check) or accept any financial risk, including cancelation or reschedule costs. The FCDO will not meet the costs connected with relocation if offered a position.
