**Job overview and responsibilities**

Oversee and manage all tasks of the Spanish finance offices based in Madrid. This is a hybrid position.

This role supports a 5 daily flight (MAD & BCN) and 3 seasonal flight (AGP, PMI & TFS) operation out of Spain. This includes management of payroll, monthly VAT reporting, end of month accounting close i.e., accruals & balance sheet accounts, variance explanation, monthly expense & cash forecast. Monitoring travel agency risk and credit worthiness. Ensure development and implementation of adequate internal financial controls to safeguard company assets, verify accuracy and reliability of accounting data and promote operational efficiency and adherence to management policy and local government requirements. Compliance with all statutory reporting & filings, tax matter.
Assist with any other functions that may arise from time to time.
- Prepares payroll & related taxes for Spain
- Prepares VAT reporting & reimbursements
- Handles Day to Day Accounting & Administration & Reporting for Spain
- Overlooks BSP related work (ADMs/ACMs), correspondence with agencies, risk management for Spain
- Manages a team of 1
- Liaise with HR for payroll & CBA updates

**This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.**

**Qualifications**:
**Required**
- Associate degree or 2 years of relevant work experience (Finance & Accounting)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounting
- Payroll & Taxes & expert in accounting principles
- Well-versed in accounting principles
- Well-versed with Oracle accounting software
- Good knowledge of Payroll
- Good knowledge of Local labor laws
- Good knowledge of handling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
- Excellent Excel Knowledge
- Occasional travel as needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in Spain for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Interviews will be conducted in English
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

**Preferred**
- Bachelor's degree
- Payroll experience
- Professional Accounting Qualification
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Initiating action, building partnerships, cross-functional teamwork, finding solutions, planning, and organizing, self-starter, strong inter-personal skills
- Understanding of Airlines business
- Excellent communicator, analytical skills, sensitivity to cultural differences, proven customer focus
- Extensive knowledge of international operations, policies, procedures, and processes
