ABLE Human Motion is a medical device start-up that has created the world’s most lightweight and affordable robotic exoskeleton to help people with disabilities walk again. The company is recognized as Best European Robotics Startup and Innovators Under 35 by MIT.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design** a new generation of exoskeletons for home use**.

**Tasks.**
- **Design exoskeleton parts **with challenging weight, strength, usability and cost constraints.
- **Perform engineering calculations** or simulations to ensure the design meets the required solicitations.
- Create and review **technical drawings**, plans, and specifications.
- **Prototype and assemble** complex electromechanical systems (mechanical and electronic parts of exoskeletons).
- Develop **manufacturing and assembling processes**.

**Required Qualifications.**
- **Experience in Mechanical Design using SolidWorks** or similar CAD software.
- Experience **designing parts for manufacturing** with the following methods and materials: CNC machining with metal, lamination with carbon fiber, MJF 3D printing with plastic.
- **Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)** as part of the design process.
- **Motivated and proactive** with the ability to work independently.
- **High-performer**, being able to get things done in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Proficiency in written and oral English.

**Preferred Qualifications.**
- PhD degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering or related.
- Experience designing and assembling complex mechanical systems (including bearings, gears, timing belts, demanding tolerances, moving parts and electronic components like motors, sensors and boards).
- Experience with different surface finishing technologies (sandblasting, polished, anodized, painting, laser marking).
- Previous experience in the field of Rehabilitation Robotics.
- Understanding of biomechanics, human gait and exoskeletons.
- Written and oral Spanish, if possible.
