What You’ll Do:
As an FP&A Analyst, you will play a key role by overseeing the preparation of the business segment´s financial statements and other financial and operating reports that will help senior leadership understand the company’s current and projected financial position. You will also ensure the adequate maintenance of policies and procedures in the areas of finance and accounting to maintain suitable internal controls that lead to complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting. In addition, as part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for the implementation of operating models and acting as a point of contact with lenders for project finance agreements. In this role, you will work closely with the operating asset supervisors in order to understand the key financial drivers of the Spanish portfolio (price trends, operating expenses, cash flow management for invoice approvals, etc.)

The position will be based in Madrid and will work closely with the FP&A Manager in Spain and the other finance areas (accounting, tax, business development), in addition to the finance teams in Canada to oversee all operating assets in Spain and support development activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Reporting and analysis: Provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis to guide decision-making, which includes reporting to shareholders and lenders.
- Financial strategy: Develop financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting.
- Cash flow management: Monitor and balance cash flows into and out of a business to meet obligations and optimize investment.
- Budget: Create the budget per segment, including historical data.
- External reporting: Prepare company financial statements, including local statutory financial statements and group consolidated financial statements.
- Cost savings: Identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business.
- Debt management: Administer loan agreements for company borrowings and collect moneys owed to the company from customers.
- Approving invoices: Ensure invoices are properly approved and coded in the general ledger.
- Internal controls: Create and monitor company policies and internal controls, especially spending controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local accounting GAAPs, tax provisions and relevant industry, and financial regulations.

Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in business, economics or accounting.
- 3+ years’ experience in progressive management, FP&A, and/or financial/accounting analysis experience
- Knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS.
- Analysis, planning, forecasting, and modeling experience.
- Fluency in Spanish and advanced communication skills in English are required.
