Within The Workshop, MSP is a highly private, managed services and data centre hosting facility. We offer an array of different products and services including cloud, co-location, managed security and many other ‘as a’ services. In addition, The IT Services Group is at the heart of the value chain for MSP. Our team which consists of Product, Core Engineering, IT Services, Support and Architecture are a tight knit operating unit where excellence is the standard.

**What you'll do**

As a **Senior Engineer - Network **you will assist with the design, build and operation of our Networks. Duties and responsibilities of a Senior Network Engineer will include but are not be limited to the following:

- Play a key role in the design, implementation, configuration and support of Network solutions suitable for our enterprise including associated policies and processes
- Create documentation to describe installation, operating procedure and best practise standards
- Act as an advisor for the team on projects, working with appropriate stakeholders capturing requirements, assess solutions, offering assistance and providing recommendations and implementing solutions where required
- Actively listens to team members, using coaching and mentoring skills to support ongoing development of self and others
- Is responsible for implementing Network (and associated services) improvements, updates and patching including automation when possible
- Maintains support processes and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures
- Be the Level 3 technical assistance to support staff and participate in an on-call support rotation,
- Investigates and resolves Network problems, requesting action from supplier if required, assisting other technical teams investigate and resolve problems in their space if required.
- Monitors system software metrics and adjusts configurations for optimum availability and performance
- Drive continuous performance improvements, identify and implement processes and procedures to improve effectiveness
- Identify and implement enhancements to optimize service performance including upgrades and improving on scripts

**What you'l bring**

The ideal Senior Engineer - Network will possess and demonstrate some or all of the following attributes:

- Demonstrated seniority and breadth of IT experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience and expertise in an IT administration or support role using technologies such as:

- Cisco Routing, Switching and SD-WAN products
- Other Networking equipment such as Supermicro switches
- Firewalling products such as Palo Alto, Panorama, and Global Protect VPN in big-scale networks, as well as management of security policies
- Load balancing products such as F5
- Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
- Related education/certification.
- Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Consultative approach with supporting various teams with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

**Nice also to have**:

- User Experience with some of the following technologies would be an asset: OpenStack, VMWare, Remote Desktop Services, Project Management principles, CRM, Collaboration Tools, Monitoring Tools (Grafana, Icinga) and Atlassian software stack
- Experience with automation and scripting in Linux environment
- Experience managing end customers
