Golf Operations Manager

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join Abama Golf, on a full-time basis, as a Golf Operations Manager. In this role you will play an integral part of the golf operations team, by leading and supervising the team, to ensure the smooth delivery of all aspects of the day-to-day golf operation and ensure exceptional service delivery to our golfing guests.

Abama Golf Club offers one of the most impressive clubs in Canary Islands and Spain. Boasting a Dave Thomas designed championship golf course and has hosted many prestigious events including European Tour, LET and hosted corporate events. Alongside the golf course, we offer a world-class practice facility.

**Purpose of Role**:

- To support the smooth and effective day to day running of all golfing activities
- Consistently focus on delivering an exceptional experienceAssist in leading the Proshop and Outside Golf Operations team to ensure high team morale and an elevated level of customer service
- Assist in the management of the F&B service
- Communicate and work alongside the Golf Shop and Professional Team to ensure effective communication and consistency between Golf Departments.
- To maintain standards and consistency of delivery of service as directed and in accordance with the policies and procedures set by the department
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned individual tasks

**Principal Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Support the management of the day-to-day operation of all golfing activities and related services
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the course greenkeeper manager and personnel
- Clear communication with the outside operations team ensuring they are aware of the days play and any special requirements or areas to focus on
- Display excellent customer service to initiate a positive atmosphere for guest relations
- Prepare necessary and relevant reports
- Establish guidelines for Golf Operations; expectations and parameters
- Oversee the golf shop retail operation, reviewing purchased products, managing inventory levels and promotions
- Liaise with suppliers ensuring good value for money, approves and oversees orders, supplies associated with golf activities
- Manage the golf operations policies, procedures, controls and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets and resources
- Conduct necessary performance appraisals with relevant golf team staff
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned or required by the management
- Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and presentation of the buggy fleet
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and Club policies
- Manage golf related systems to ensure best possible client journey
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the course manager and personnel
- Display excellent customer service to initiate a positive atmosphere for guest relations
- Prepare necessary and relevant reports
- Establish guidelines for Golf Operations; expectations and parameters
- Conduct necessary performance appraisals with relevant golf team staff

**Qualifications and experience required for this role**:

- Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
- Be capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Possess good customer service skills, be friendly and personable
- Self-motivated with the desire to promote and market
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in both Spanish and English. Additional languages would be an advantage
- Strong leadership and strategic planning experience
- Experience of working within an established team
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft and Point of Sale Systems

**Experience**:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience from a similar role or from a private golf club with relevant experience in golf club management both showing drive and ambition to achieve and ambition to achieve
