**Laboratory Technician**

**Research Unit in Diabetes and Metabolism**

VHIR offers a Laboratory Technician position to work in the project “Mechanisms involved in the resolution of white

adipose tissue inflammation in response to calorie restriction” with file number: PID2021-123377OB-I00 and financed by
the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación-MICINN, under the supervision of Dr. Josep A. Villena, Principal Investigator of

the Laboratory of Metabolism and Obesity from the Research Unit in Diabetes and Metabolism.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Certificate of Higher Education as Laboratory Technician (FPII in the Spanish system)
- FELASA Certificate (A, C and D functions)

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

(mouse and rats), including blood and urine withdrawal, assessment of glucose homeostasis, drug administration

and tissue sampling.
- Experience in basic techniques of molecular biology (DNA/RNA isolation, qPCR, western blot, etc.)
- Experience in cell culture and cell biology techniques, including immune-histochemistry and confocal microscopy.

Full-time/Part-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: January, 2023
- Gross annual salary: 18600 - 23300 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges
are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
