**Laboratory Technician**

**Nephrology and Transplantation Research Group**

VHIR offers a vacant position for a laboratory technician with experience in experimental animal models for the

Nephrology and Transplantation Research Group.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Laboratory technician CFGS or FP2 certificate
- Accreditation to manipulate experimental animals.

**Desired: -**

Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

Proven experience in animal (preferably mice and rats) handling, product administration, welfare monitoring and
sacrifice.
- At least 2 year’s experience of animal and laboratory work in research-related projects.
- Lab management skills (analytical, organizational and time management).
- Good computer skills, especially in MS Office.

**Desired: -**

Previous experience in animal surgery.
- Previous experience in immunohistochemistry and basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western Blot,

ELISA, etc.) and cell cultures.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Performance of heart transplantation in mice, and follow-up.
- Performance of skin transplantation in mice, and follow-up.
- Performance of kidney transplantation in mice, and follow-up.
- Product administration, blood sample collection, welfare monitoring and sacrifice.
- Harvesting and processing (either fixing or isolation of cells) organs and tissues.
- Sample processing (cell isolation)
- Immunohistochemistry.

**Labour conditions: -**

Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate, 2024.
- Gross annual salary: 18.589,05 - 24.680,55 euros. Remuneration will depend on experience, skills and prior
knowledge.
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities***
