**Financial Crime Compliance Sanctions - Junior Sanctions Advisory Officer**

**Ebury Central Malaga Office - Hybrid working - (3 days / week in the office)**

**The Role**

The Junior Sanctions Advisory Officer will report into the Group Head of Sanctions and will be responsible for managing the 2nd line Sanctions Compliance function within Ebury, one of the fastest-growing Fintech companies in the world.

They will play a key role in maintaining the firm's sanctions compliance framework to ensure alignment with UN, EU, UK and US sanctions and our banking partners.
- Supporting and reporting to the Group Head of Sanctions in maintaining the firm's sanctions compliance framework
- Analysis of escalations received through Sanctions Exposure by front office
- Support the advisory function to the first and second lines of defence on clients and transactions with potential or actual sanctions exposure
- Support the delivery of Sanctions MI to give transparency of sanctions risk across the firm
- Support the Group Head of Sanctions on relevant project work across the first or second lines where consideration of sanctions is required
- Support the Group Head of Sanctions with internal investigations in connect to actual or potential sanctions breaches
- Support the Group Head of Sanctions with any internal and external reporting obligations arising from actual or potential sanctions breaches
- Working closely with the Financial Crime operations on sanctions related matters and projects such as, name screening, payment screening and KYC processes
- Working closely with the Financial Crime Escalations on sanctions related matters and projects

**Role requirements**:

- Minimum 1-2 years experience either working in compliance or a financial crime related operational role
- Must have experience of international sanction regulations (UN, EU, UK and US)
- Must be a team player but can adapt to work independently when required
- Can demonstrate the ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations
- Ability to adapt to a fast changing global business environment
- Must be able to work well under pressure and be proactive in completing cases under time sensitive conditions
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- High competency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs software (desired)
